Messages, voice and video calls, proper meetings, and somewhere safe for the photos you would hate to lose. Built for a family, not for an advertising business.
Invite-only while we grow. Android, web and Windows today.
What you get
One app instead of four, with the storage built in rather than sold separately.
Text, photos, video, voice notes and documents. Edit and reply, react, delete for everyone, and search your own history on the device.
One-to-one and group voice and video, with screen sharing. Small calls go device to device; larger ones run through our own media server.
Folders, versions and a recycle bin, plus a photo timeline and albums. Files are encrypted on your device before they leave it.
Your camera roll backs itself up in the background. When the phone fills up, Free Up Space removes only what is already safely stored.
Schedule something properly: a time, a calendar invite, a link for people who are not on Tas Dial, and a host who is actually in charge.
Android, any modern browser, and a Windows app. Sign in on more than one device and everything keeps up.
Getting going
Tas Dial is invite-only. Someone already on it sends you a code, which works once. That is deliberate: it keeps strangers and spam out by design rather than by moderation.
Install the Android app or open the web app, confirm your email, and pick a display name. Add your phone number only if you want to be found by it.
Start a chat, make a group, turn on photo backup. Every member can invite the next person, so a family spreads itself without going through you.
Meetings
Everything below exists because a family meeting, a class, or a committee call needs more than “everyone unmute at once”.
Send a link. A guest types their name, waits in the lobby until a host lets them in, and can chat, raise a hand, react, vote in polls and caption their own speech.
Mute everyone, ask someone to unmute, spotlight a speaker, pin a tile, promote a co-host, admit or remove people, and set a passcode or make everyone wait for you.
Split the room into groups and move people between them, on the web and on Android. Everyone talks inside a breakout, and the room’s rules apply again on the way back.
Turn on view-only and a few people speak while the rest watch, listen, chat and raise hands. It is enforced by the media server, not just hidden in the interface.
Captions are spoken on the device, so your voice is not sent anywhere to be transcribed. Polls open, close and show results to the room.
A host records on their own device, and everyone in the room is told it has started. No silent recording, and no copy of your meeting sitting on our servers.
Privacy and security
Plenty of apps say “your privacy matters” and leave it there. Here is the actual table: what our servers can read, and what they cannot.
| Your data | Can we read it? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your password | No | Only a hash is stored, and it cannot be turned back into your password. |
| Files and photos in your storage | No | Encrypted on your device with a key we never receive. |
| Things you send in a chat | No | Encrypted on your device too, including the file name and the caption. |
| Your address book | No | It is never uploaded. Matching happens on your phone. |
| What you say in a call or meeting | No | Audio and video pass through, they are not recorded or stored. |
| Message text | Not yet protected from us | End-to-end encryption for messages is being built now (MLS, RFC 9420). Until it ships, message text is readable on the server in principle, so we say so plainly instead of implying otherwise. |
| Who you talk to, and when | Yes | Delivering a message means knowing where to send it. We keep this to the minimum and never use it for advertising. |
| Your email, phone number and display name | Yes | Needed to sign you in and to let the right people find you. |
No analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no session replay. Crash reports go to our own server with personal details stripped out. There is nothing to sell, because selling it is not the business.
Discovery is opt-in, and the app sends only a short fragment of a one-way hash of each number, never the numbers themselves.
Account status, devices and storage totals, so we can help when something breaks. Not your messages, not your files, not the names of your private files. Every look at an account is logged.
Pricing
Tas Dial is invite-only while it is being finished, and the prices below are not set yet. The plans and what is in them are real; the numbers are placeholders.

Questions
Files and photos are: they are encrypted on your device, and we never hold the key. The same goes for anything you attach to a chat, including its file name.
Message text is not yet. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and our servers never look inside a message, but until the end-to-end work ships the text is readable on the server in principle. We are building it on MLS (RFC 9420), and we would rather tell you where we are than put a padlock on the page and hope.
Because it keeps the place quiet. No strangers, no spam accounts, nothing to moderate. Any member can invite someone, and each code works once.
You can always export what you have. Your files are yours, and nothing is deleted without telling you first and giving you time to get it out.
Yes. Sign in on your phone, your laptop browser and the Windows app, and they stay in step. You can see your devices and remove one you no longer have.
Not yet. Android, the web app and Windows are available today. The web app works on an iPhone browser in the meantime, and iOS is designed for but not scheduled.
On servers we run, with a nightly backup kept somewhere separate. We can tell you the region before you sign up if it matters to you.
No, and the architecture makes it awkward to start: there are no advertising SDKs in the apps, no third-party analytics, and most of what you store is encrypted before it reaches us.
Tas Dial is invite-only while we finish the end-to-end encryption work. If someone has sent you a code, start here. If not, leave us a line and we will come back to you.
