Terms of service

Draft of 4 October 2026

This is a draft. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet binding. Treat it as a statement of how we intend to behave.

1. Who we are, and what this covers

Tas Dial is a messaging, calling and storage service. These terms cover your use of the apps, the web app and this website. By using an account, you agree to them.

2. Your account

3. What you may not do

Short list, and we mean all of it: nothing illegal; nothing that harms or harasses another person; no material that sexualises children; no malware; no attempts to break into accounts, the service or other people’s data; no automated bulk messaging; and no reselling the service as your own.

Because your files and attachments are encrypted on your device, we cannot scan them, and we do not. That makes this section a promise you are making rather than a filter we are running. If we are told about something serious, we can suspend an account; we cannot retrospectively read what it stored.

4. Your content stays yours

You own what you write, send and store. You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your encrypted files, pass your messages to the people you sent them to, and keep backups so your data survives a failure. We do not use your content to train anything, and we do not sell it or hand it to advertisers.

5. Storage and fair use

Each account has a storage allowance, shown in the app. If you pass it, you can still read and download everything, but new uploads will wait until you free up space or move to a larger plan. There are limits on the size of a single upload and on how many people can be in a group; the app tells you what they are.

6. Paying

While Tas Dial is invite-only and unfinished, it is free to the people who have been invited. When paid plans start, we will tell you the price before it applies to you, and nobody will be charged without agreeing first. If you decide not to continue, you will have a clear window to export your files.

7. What we promise, and what we do not

8. Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, and your data goes with it. We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 3, or if we have to shut the service down — and if we ever do shut it down, we will give you notice and time to get your files out, not an email on the last day.

9. Changes to these terms

When these terms change in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.

10. Getting in touch
